Homestead Rodeo Queen Holiday Parade

Homestead Rodeo Queen Holiday Parade

Posing in her stylish Western wardrobe at the Homestead Holiday Parade, our CEO Emily Delgado seamlessly marks her prospective title of Miss Homestead Rodeo Queen 2024 in her hometown. She proudly wears two items from our store, highlighting the glittery white top, adorned with her charming jeweled earrings

Humble community, tame horses, carriage rides, and the magical, cloaking feeling of the steadfast season of Winter emanates the exciting holiday warmth. Emily’s track on receiving support for the cause she is passionate about, Progressive Opportunities, has become her one true mission for this season as she spreads the eagerness of her nomination among those she is acquainted with.

What is the most exciting part about running for Miss Homestead Rodeo Queen?

To pick just one part that is the most exciting is difficult, as two things come to mind. One being that I have had the privilege of meeting new people, from managers to the senator, to children to individuals I call friends. I have had the opportunity to get to know incredible individuals. Not just that, the reminder that what I am representing and what I am working for is not just a crown, but to provide low-income students the chance at an education and scholarships. Those to me are the most exciting parts of being part of this competition.

What brought on your passion for this non-profit organization, Progressive Opportunities?

What brought my passion towards Progressive Opportunities is based on my own personal experiences. I am an immigrant, and my family and I came to the United States for an opportunity at a better life, however, while we worked from the ground up to build something for ourselves, we were low-income and as a student in these conditions I did everything to pursue an education and became focused on finding scholarships to pay for my college education. I chose this nonprofit because they are fighting for a cause I have personally experienced. Not only that, but the founder was actually my CAP counselor, and she helped me with the scholarship process as a low-income student.

Even if people cannot donate monetarily, how can they help with your desired cause?

Even if people cannot donate monetarily, a simple follow, share and like on my personal Instagram and TikTok will help reach others that can provide that monetary help.

The dynamic community surrounding Emily has brought her far to where she has reached today. Through the support of her family and neighbors, she was able to run for the title of Homestead Rodeo Queen 2024 and bring awareness to the support of students, especially those who have entered unfamiliar territory and must navigate through it partly on their own. Everyone deserves a chance of higher education, therefore everyone should have a resource to aid them!
