Saddle Up with Our New Tack

Horse riding comes with many different tools, often referred to as tack, to do so efficiently. Greatly depending on your discipline of horse riding, your riding tack will vary. Riding tack includes the bridle – the horses’ headgear, the halter – a piece of equipment that wraps around the horses’ head, the bit –  a piece of metal that sits in the horse’s mouth and attaches to the bridle and reins, the reins – a leather or rope strap attached to the bit and held by the rider to control movement, the saddle – a leather seat for the rider, the cinch or girth – a strap that holds the saddle firmly but comfortably against the horse’s body, and the stirrups which is an optional tool that are foot holders attached to the saddle that make the rider more comfortable and secure. Clean and well-fitting tack is essential for the well-being and comfort of the horse, and rider if there is one.

E&M Western Couture provides quality saddles that were carefully crafted to ensure durability while riding. In a myriad of hues, patterns, and styles there is a saddle that will keep you and your horse safe and comfortable in every season. Our Aztec saddle pads provide a culturally rich look to an already beautifully majestic animal – holistically representing one with earth, nature, and its natural elements.

Never ridden a horse? Here’s what you need to know.

After browsing through our collection of our Aztec-patterned saddle pads, you may be wondering how do I ride a horse and what should I expect? The aesthetic of your carefully stitched turquoise, lime green, or sky blue saddle pad is not the only important piece when horseback riding.

If you are looking to try out horseriding for the first time: Always wear a helmet. Horses are durable, strong creatures that should be treated with care but also caution. Dismounting accidentally from a horse while riding is a possible feat, and you do not want to be caught without a helmet if this occurs! Secondly: Stay alert. Just like your house pet, horses can have unpredictable behaviors to various elements in their environment. It is always important to be aware of your surroundings and see what your horse reacts to and whether you should hold on tighter or not! Last but not least: Protect your feet. Proper boots are an imperative part of horseback riding.

Don’t hesitate to check out our collection of boots if you’re curious about how you can ride in style while protecting your feet. Whether you are trudging through snow or sprinting through the heat, there is an appropriate boot for any occasion and style.

If you’re an already seasoned rider, invest in E&M Western Couture’s Aztezc-patterned saddle pad to begin riding in your own, unique style.
